Biography
Hermanus van Oostrom was born on or before 12 February 1753 to Cunera van Sweserijn, age 29, and Antonius van Oostrum, age 30.[1]
Hermanus was baptised (Roman Catholic) on 12 February 1753 in or near Schalkwijk, Utrecht, Netherlands. In the church baptism book, his father is named as Antonis Oostrum and his mother Cunera Swesereijn. The witness is Cornelia Swesereijn.[1]
Hermanus married Dorothea van Agthoven in the Roman Catholic church in Wijk bij Duurstede, Utrecht, on 16 December 1784 when he was 31 years old and she was 16 years old.[2]
They had nine children in 21 years.
His wife Dorothea passed away on 10 December 1824 in Schonauwen, Utrecht, at the age of 56. They had been married 39 years.
Hermanus van Oostrom died on 24 December 1828 in Houten, Utrecht, when he was 75 years old. In the death record, his father is named as Antonie van Oostrom and his mother Cunera Zweserijn. He is named as the widower of Dorothea van Agthoven.[3]
